I have never thought about getting a piercing, never been on my list, but I am a curious sort. You may have seen my post about my tattoo and the journey that was filled with new experiences. It was during a session with Lou that I asked the following question.
“Do you think I could pull off an eyebrow piercing?”
Grace (Instagram) was doing a piercing in the next room, and Lou and Grace had been talking about it while Lou was doing work on my tattoo. I’d started to wonder how it would feel to have one and how it would look. So I asked Lou when Grace had gone.
“Are you thinking about getting one?”
“I think so, I’m curious, might look good in this eyebrow, balance my scar on the other one?”
“Yeah, I think it would suit you, it would look good. Go for it, fuck yeah!” and that was it. I booked a session with Grace.
The day of the Appointment
A couple of days later, I turned up ready to get an additional hole in my body. I was a bit nervous, but far more curious.
Enter Grace, she is a wonderful, warm human being who explained everything to me, about the process, about what might happen, what can go wrong, and the required aftercare. She explained about migration and rejection, where the body expels the piercing in some cases, and asked if that was a risk I would take, to which I said yes.
Once I’d signed a few forms, she did the deed, a needle, and a tube inserted through my eyebrow, with a moment’s pain, and it was all over. I’m not sure there was any blood. And then she slipped in the bar, and I was done.
All I had to do was keep it clean using saline solutions, washing it a few times a day, which I did. The only aftereffect I got was some bruising and swelling, as you can see in this picture 4 days later.

I heal pretty quickly, so within about 10 days, all the soreness had gone, and it felt great. And I do love it, I love that it was. spur of the moment decision, and that it just feels so right now, I have it.
Will I get another? Maybe, on the helix of the ear, we’ll see, I am kinda feeling it 🙂
